was built in the early 19th Century to house farm workers on a family-run wine-growing estate among the vineyards of “Valpolicella” on a hill above the village of “San Pietro in Cariano”. It was completely renovated in 2002 and fitted out with all the latest equipment.

The house has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with four single beds. On the same floor is the guest bathroom. Arrangements can be made for small seminar groups with prior agreement (sleeping accommodation can be extended). A course room can be made available.

The beautiful surroundings are ideal for long walks, many of which lead to important sites of historical interest. The historic centre of Verona, where the world-famous opera festivals are held in the “Arena di Verona” in July and August, is only 12km away and can be reached by bus. Lake Garda is some 15km away.

A swimming-pool, riding stables and tennis courts are all to be found locally and the village of “San Pietro in Cariano” has all the necessary shopping facilities (including chemist, supermarket, clothes shops, off licence).

The way to Villa Draghetto

If you are travelling from Germany, drive down the Brenner motorway into Italy. Leave the motorway about 224 km after the Brenner at the "Verona Nord" exit. After the toll-station follow the trunk road straight on in the direction of "Trento". Do not take the “Trento” exit, but continue to the end of the road (about 10km). At the end of the road, turn right towards "San Pietro in Cariano" (about 0.5km).

Follow the main road until you see the Hotel Valpolicella on the right about 300m after the traffic-lights (large white sign). Leave the main road here and turn left into the "Via Monte Drago" (exactly opposite the hotel sign).

After 100m take the "Via Monte Drago" to the left. 300m further on, turn left and pass through the iron gate with the sign "Villa Drago". Drive to the end of the private road (about 500m), through the entrance and Villa Draghetto will be on your left.

Accommodation is in a double room or a room with 4 single beds. A fully equipped kitchen and a living room both with fire-places are at your disposal.
